Dr. Jerry L. Kitchens, Jr., MD
Founder & Medical Director
Born and raised in Birmingham, Dr. Jerry Kitchens built his medical career on a simple principle: patients deserve more from their healthcare. After earning his undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College and his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, he trained in surgery at the University of Louisville, where he met his wife, a pediatric nurse.
For 23 years, Dr. Kitchens served the Birmingham community as a general surgeon before osteoarthritis forced him out of the operating room. When his father was later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, he turned frustration into purpose, pursuing advanced study in functional and preventative medicine. After completing the Institute for Functional Medicine training program in 2024, he founded Homewood Health and Wellness and now leads Birmingham Longevity Clinic.
Today, Dr. Kitchens applies decades of surgical precision to preventative medicine. His mission: give patients the data, insight, and partnership they need to stay ahead of disease and continue doing what they love for decades to come.
Kristen Zeanah, PT, DPT
Director of Performance & Injury Prevention
Kristen Zeanah brings a performance-driven approach to preventive care, helping patients move better, recover faster, and live stronger. A licensed physical therapist with a Doctorate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a background in mechanical engineering from Auburn University, he combines clinical expertise with a deep understanding of biomechanics to close the gap between rehab and peak performance.
As founder of 10x Physiotherapy, one of Alabama’s first mobile, cash-based physical therapy practices, Zeanah has helped hundreds of individuals rebuild strength and resilience through efficient, one-on-one care. He also serves as the Strength and Injury Prevention Coach for Vestavia Hills High School Track & Field, guiding the team to the 2025 Alabama 7A State Championship.
Whether he’s coaching athletes or supporting Birmingham Longevity patients, Zeanah believes movement is medicine. His goal is simple: to help every person regain confidence in their body, improve performance, and build lasting durability for the years ahead.
